Fire in 12-story building in Tirana / Details about the cause of the flames

New details have emerged regarding the fire that engulfed the 12-story building near "Pharmacy 10" two days ago. According to reports, the investigation team has reviewed security cameras from businesses in the area and it is suspected that the cause of the fire was the negligence of some minors.

The latter are suspected of having thrown a lit letter into the cardboard waste near the market located on the ground floor. An official announcement from the authorities is awaited for further details.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident, suspected of the criminal offenses of "negligent destruction of property" and "violation of occupational safety regulations." Four others have been criminally prosecuted.

As a result of the fire, 11 people were taken to the emergency room, while 6 of them were hospitalized, and fortunately none of them are in danger of life. Investigations are underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.  /CNA
