Fires in the country/ Ministry: With security perimeter for problematic hot

The Ministry of Defense announced this afternoon that maximum attention and commitment is being shown on the ground by the Armed Forces, Firefighters and Police to secure the residential areas around which work is being done to create a security perimeter in all problematic areas.

As of this morning, 21 fires have been identified in the country, of which 7 have been extinguished and 14 remain active.

The Croatian Canadair aircraft has operated where the need has been greatest, in Krane in Finiqi and Lukovë in Himara, while the crews of Farka Air Base have intervened in Ballaj and Zhabjak in Rrogozhina and currently in Poliçan, where the flames do not threaten the perimeter of the former Mechanical Plant.

Through a statement, the Ministry emphasizes that air missions and ground intervention in these areas have reduced the risk to residents, homes and businesses, but the situation continues to remain dynamic as a result of strong winds and high temperatures that will continue to dominate the country.

Over the next few hours, the operational fleet will be joined by two helicopters from the United Arab Emirates Air Force, 1 Canadair from Greece, and two European helicopters from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which will be deployed tonight to Rinas and Kuçova Air Base.

Meanwhile, the State Committee for Civil Emergencies has ordered the increase of the readiness of Municipalities to the maximum level throughout the country, while operational forces are engaged in every hotspot considered critical in the territory./CNA
