"Shame"/ Intense debates between the DP MP and Balla

A strong debate took place in the Assembly between Democratic Party MP Tritan Shehu and the head of the SP parliamentary group Taulant Balla, focusing on the Prime Minister's visit to Barcelona and the draft law on services.

Shehu raised the question of whether Edi Rama was in Barcelona as prime minister or as party leader, claiming that transparency is needed regarding the purpose of the visit and accusing the prime minister of avoiding questions in parliament.

He also criticized the draft law on services, describing the legislative process as unclear and problematic in the way materials were presented to committees.

"As a party, they can do whatever they want, the explanation I asked for is this: Did Rama go as prime minister or as party leader? If he went as party leader, it's your business! If he went as prime minister, he violated the political and strategic positions of this state. He is afraid to come to parliament because he will avoid these questions. Regarding the law, that law is a disgrace to the world for you! We were in the committee, we didn't find out who presented it, the government or Denaj. Two materials, one report. A whole cacophony that cannot happen! If there are two draft laws, we have no objections, we vote for them separately," said Shehu.

On the other hand, Balla responded by saying that the law is important for Albania's European integration process. He accused the opposition of unsubstantiated objections and emphasized international support for Albania.

"What problem do you have with this law or is it useless? Let's be fair. You said that when it comes to it, at least in Brussels that you tremble here, when it comes to integration laws, we are ready. Two people have said we will not vote for it. At least let's be honest with each other. Our first duty is to legislate. If you exclude yourself from the laws of approximation of legislation... in the committee you voted against it, this is a fact. To conclude, I think that by the time we vote, I heard that there was a revolt not to participate in the minute of silence for academician Rexhep Qosja, the DP does not deserve this shame," said Balla.

The head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, responded to Tritan Shehur about Rama's visit to Barcelona.

"Oh Tritan, he was there and I'm telling you that the German SPD is among the main initiators of the progressive alliance and now this global mobilization in defense of democratic values. Even the Spanish prime minister. A country that supports Albania 100% well. Well, what about the president of the European Council, Antonio Costa, he was like you said, so please, I understand that you have your own internal order here, but at least for the important things of Albania, you can't get up and say what you said. To attack the German vice chancellor, to attack the chancellor, the prime minister of Spain, of Denmark, the leader of the Italian opposition, my friend Eli Schlein, who you also know, the Italian Democratic Party, and you even have a friend, Kazini, who is here with us! You've been here for 70-80 years and you come and say irresponsible things! When the prime minister went to Trump, you shouted why he went to Trump, that's what he said "What did you have?" said Balla.

Balla further ironically addressed the deputies to prepare for the NATO summit to be held next year in Albania.

"Get used to the fact that next year Albania will not be the capital of Europe, but of the world! Next year we welcome the largest security summit in the world, the NATO summit! Hold your head up Tritan, Trump is coming!", Balla added./ CNA
