The European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Koska, paid an official visit to Greece where she met with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis.

In a reaction on the "X" platform, Kos writes that the meetings discussed EU enlargement and positive developments in Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine and Moldova on the path to integration.

The Commissioner emphasizes that the Greek government is committed to the integration of the Western Balkans region into the EU.

"Greece is an important partner in EU enlargement, bordering several candidate countries. In Athens with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, I discussed recent positive developments in Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine, Moldova, as well as the path of EU enlargement for the Western Balkans.

I also met with Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis. The Greek government is very committed to the enlargement process, especially in the Western Balkans, and will play a crucial role in driving progress during its Presidency of the Council at a crucial juncture next year.

"We also talked about possible steps to continue building trust between Turkey and all EU Member States, especially Cyprus," Kos' post said. /CNA
