DP MP Jozefina Topalli spoke in Parliament about the Mountain Package and the "Gateway to the Alps" project. Topalli says that what is being sold as development by the government is more like projects without transparency.

Among other things, she added that the government does not publish the project criteria, with the aim of favoritism, property grabbing and clientelism. The MP said that the government is deliberately leaving the details of the project "in the fog" to make it easier to allocate funds to its clients.

"The Mountain Package, in fact, tries to sell itself as a development but it looks more like projects without transparency, without criteria and with a great risk of ownership conflicts. When a project does not have public criteria, then the door opens for favoritism, property theft and clientelism. There is a question that no one from the government answers, how is it possible that funds for the Alps end up in coastal areas. These are political fog. The more unclear the project, the easier it becomes to allocate funds and privileges for government clients. When talking about the Gateway to the Alps for the Lezha and Shkodra regions, no one explains how much funds go to each region, who benefits? For the government, only the relief of interests matters. In this country, even the mountains no longer follow nature but the client. I am convinced that the money that you call by the beautiful name "Gate to the Alps" will turn into grapes and plums", said Topalli. /CNA
