The Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party and at the same time Political Leader for the Diaspora, Taulant Balla, has reacted regarding the call for the IV Summit of the Albanian Diaspora, to be held on April 14–15, 2026, under the auspices of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Through a post on social networks, Balla emphasizes that Albania is today at the highest level of its representation and dignity in the international arena in 113 years of statehood, becoming a model of stability and cooperation in the Western Balkans.

"Albania today is a member of the Peace Board, a host country for the NATO Summit and on a safe path towards concluding negotiations for membership in the European Union by 2027. This is an achievement that belongs to all Albanians, wherever they are," Balla said.

He underlines that the Albanian diaspora has a key role in these historical moments for the country, describing the IV Summit as a space for dialogue, cooperation and vision between Albanians around the world and institutions in Albania.

"According to Balla, the Diaspora Summit is a real opportunity to share ideas, experiences and strengthen ties between the diaspora and the Albanian state, in the interest of a European Albania and a common future," the reaction states.

The IV Albanian Diaspora Summit is expected to gather representatives of Albanian communities from different countries around the world, as well as institutional, economic and social actors from Albania./ CNA
