The Qukës–Qafë Plloçë road is one of the most problematic infrastructure projects in the country, a project that has been underway since 2009.

Since its opening on September 5, 2025, this axis has been accompanied by frequent blockages and landslides, while recently an even more serious and severe problem has emerged.

CNA recently reported that, on the second section of the Qafë Plloçë–Qukës road, near the turnoff to the village of Trebinje, the roadway has suffered significant cracks.

Damage was found both in the central part of the road structure and on the sides, creating serious difficulties in vehicle traffic, especially in one direction of movement.

This situation is not considered a common problem, like those previously encountered on this axis, but a serious case of irresponsibility by the company that carried out the construction of Lot II of the Qukës–Qafë Plloçë segment.

The damage shown raises strong questions about the quality of the works.

For the construction of Lot II of this segment, the subcontractor of the "Combain Group" contracting firm was the "Alb Building" company, which was in charge of carrying out part of the works on this problematic axis.
