Reconstruction of the Fushë-Krujë prison / Transfer of prisoners

In implementation of the Measure Plan No. 1261, dated 23.01.2026, and due to the reconstruction of the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions (IEVP) Fushë-Krujë, the process of transferring convicts to other institutions for serving sentences has begun.

Specifically, a total of 142 prisoners have been transferred, of which 85 to the Peqin Penitentiary and 57 to the Durrës Penitentiary. To carry out this process, all necessary measures have been taken to guard and escort the prisoners by operational forces, under the guidance of relevant specialists.

Also, the Tirana Local Police Directorate, the Elbasan Local Police Directorate, as well as the relevant police stations, have been notified of the movement, in accordance with the determined itinerary.

The convoy of 57 prisoners arrived without problems at the Durrës Penitentiary Institution, where the institution has taken full measures to receive, control and accommodate them, under the direction of the institution's leaders.

Likewise, the convoy of 85 prisoners arrived without problems at the Peqin Penitentiary Institution, where all standard procedures for the reception, control and accommodation of prisoners were implemented, under the guidance of the institution's leaders.
