 Resolution on integration/ Kaso: Does not praise the government, pledges

DP MP Ivi Kaso spoke this evening regarding the resolution approved in the Parliament on European integration and Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements that the opposition has now accepted that there is no blockage of the process.

In a television appearance, Kaso stated that the resolution does not mention any words of praise for the government but pledges to fulfill what the EU demands. Among other things, he added that the DP has stated that the process is not blocked but is stagnant.

"I do not mention any words of praise for the government, but I pledge to fulfill what the European Union requires. We did not say that the process is blocked, but that it is stagnant. If it were not stagnant, the IBAR report would have been approved.  The initial preliminary assessment provided very few technical conditions to be met, while now there are 101 conditions. This is a resolution that Albania has decided to change its approach to. Now the parliament must take the main role with the law that belongs to it. The majority has already pledged to offer transparency to Albanians who did not have it before," said Kaso. / CNA
