Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed criticism of the European Union during his speech at the meeting being held in Skopje.

The head of the government stated that some countries benefit from funds in support of citizens, while Albania does not receive as much as they do.

Also, Rama said that the EU should be more serious with the Western Balkans.

"The problem between what member countries receive is depressing. Attempts at convergence are pathetic and that is a fact. One of the neighboring countries that is part of the EU earns about 400,000 for its citizens from the Union every year, while we receive about 130 for the citizens. This is the problem. There is desperation in this regard.

I want to highlight one issue. Imagine what a better position we would be in if it was more serious about regional integration and more serious about the real issues. That's how it should have been when the Berlin process started, which starts once a year, a year between the year and a day. That's why we started with the open Balkans.
