Money stuffed in black bags/ Footage inside the Albanian Post branch in Durrës is published

Security camera footage inside the Albanian Post offices in Durrës and the suspected movement of money in this branch have been published.

In the footage above, the former head of finance, VD, at the Durrës Post Office is seen moving around with a black bag containing money.

This money was allegedly taken from the cash register and sent to the office of former director Elizabeta Mataja, in violation of the prescribed procedures.

We recall that in connection with the scandal of embezzlement of money from pension funds and economic assistance for the citizens of Durrës, former director Mataj was arrested, along with the former head of finance and the treasurer.

They are suspected of breach of duty and abuse of monetary values. It is suspected that the postal fund is missing an amount of 700 thousand euros, but the possibility that the amount is even greater has not been ruled out. The Prosecutor's Office is expected to issue an official response to the investigations. /CNA
