Pope Leo XIV appoints Apostolic Administrator of Southern Albania

Pope Leo XIV has appointed Father Flavio Cavallini as Apostolic Administrator of Southern Albania.

Sent to Albania in 1993, he led the Albanian Franciscan Province for three terms. Since 1994, he has taught Holy Scripture at the Philosophical-Theological Institute of Shkodra.

Since 2015, he has lived in the Franciscan Congregation of Tirana, where he is engaged in the biblical formation of laypeople and catechists. Since the beginning of March of that year, he has served as parish priest at the Church of Saint Anthony.

Father Cavallini was born in Verona in 1957. After completing his theological studies, he was ordained a priest in 1984. He then continued his academic training at the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum in Jerusalem, where in 1988 he completed his master's degree in Biblical Theology./CNA
