The Operational Units of the General Directorate of Prisons landed this Saturday at the detention facilities in Vlora for a thorough inspection that lasted about two hours.
Around 70 officers were deployed in this unexpected operation, supported by forces from prisons in Fier and Pecini, who combed every cell for the presence of prohibited items.
Despite strict controls and verifications in every interior space, it is reported that no illegal device or compromised item was found.
This action comes within the framework of a plan of measures to increase security in the country's prisons, aiming to prevent criminal activities within the walls of the institutions.
After the completion of the operation in Vlora, security forces have moved to other areas to continue routine checks nationwide./ CNA
