This Saturday, former President Ilir Meta followed in the footsteps of Mayor Erion Veliaj, officially requesting that his trial at the GJKKO, which begins this Monday, April 27, be broadcast with central control and a "live" signal for all media.

"In the interest of public information, all interested journalists and media outlets must be guaranteed a live broadcast signal."

"Transparency before Albanian citizens and accountability is an obligation for every institution and every public official!" says Meta in the request made to the GJKKO.

This request, packaged with the term "transparency", hides the same attempt to manipulate public opinion that we saw a few days ago with the mayor of Tirana.

While Veliaj uses the Administrative Court as a platform to attack prosecutors to shift attention from the 8-month delay of his criminal case, Meta is seeking to turn the corruption and money laundering process into a political platform.
