Fatmir Xhafaj has justified the failure of his commission by lying publicly.

The justice institutions rejected the invitation of the "Xhafaj" commission to be part of the meetings, stressing that it does not seem appropriate and that they have done their work publicly.

Today, in a press conference, Xhafaj publicly lied, stating that the justice institutions said they trust the Assembly.

"I thought that the explanation given by the EU ambassador was sufficient, but it seems that details are needed.

It is not a question of rejection because the Assembly is not rejected. The assembly is an expression of the will of the people. Other powers originate from the Assembly. The word rejection is inappropriate. Regarding the issue, they have determined the constitutional, legal, institutional obligation to contribute to this process.

There is no excess outside the resolution and the Assembly. The Assembly makes an action plan that includes all three powers and creates laws. As it is difficult when making laws, it also takes additional capacities to produce a reform of these dimensions, and the standard we proposed was the establishment of expert groups without justice. Then we said why without them. We told them to do the analysis themselves and bring it to the commission, without including it with the rest of the group. It is a sign of maturity. They have brought various amendments and if you look at it, they are clashing because there was no consultation. They said no, we have faith in the Assembly, you do it and we will be there whenever necessary. They are different solutions.

For us, it is important to make the process as transparent as possible, when it comes to changes in laws. We are not in a hurry to change justice laws, but it should be done through a transparent process. That's the whole story. It is so simple that you cannot think it. We wanted to make a solution to leave this thing to them as the responsibility they have for the fate of the system, but they said do it because we trust the Assembly. In the end, they really want to be part of the table where their chapter will be discussed", Xhafaj said. / CNA
