Alphabet Day, official holiday/ The government makes the decision for November 22

November 22, Alphabet Day will be an official holiday.

This fact was announced by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, during a press conference.

The decision was taken at today's meeting of the Council of Ministers.

The announcement of Alphabet Day as an official holiday was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"An amendment to the law on national holidays and memorial days will be approved. The Council of Ministers is proposing to the Assembly the addition of the alphabet day as one of our national holidays. It is a day with special symbolism.

November 22 specifies the greatest unifying moment of the Albanians, who are scattered in all the countries of the Balkans, and unites the language as well as the fact that in the Congress of Manastir they chose this sacred language with the Latin alphabet. The year 2024 is an important year for all Albanians in the region, as we hope to have a faster path to the EU", emphasized Hasani./ CNA
