Decriminalization/Cela: 13 cases of self-declaration with false data,

Chief Prosecutor Olsian Çela shared data regarding decriminalization today, during the 2024 report on the activities of the General Prosecutor's Office.

Çela said that in 2024, verification was conducted for 132 subjects, 77 of which have been completed.

Çela stated that 13 cases of filling out the self-declaration form with false data have been registered, of which 6 from the Department of Public Administration and 7 from the Central Election Commission.

Excerpt from the report to the Assembly:

During 2024, the Decriminalization Sector followed the process of in-depth verification of self-declared data in the form, in accordance with Law No. 138/2015, for 132 subjects. Out of 72 new requests, 64 processes for in-depth verification were registered during 2024 in accordance with Law No. 138/2015. These processes, according to the competent bodies that have requested in-depth verification of self-declared data in the forms by subjects, for 2024, belong to 61 requests made by the Department of Public Administration, 2 made by the Central Election Commission and 1 by the Supreme Court of Justice. During 2024, 77 in-depth verification processes were completed, of which 39 decisions are processes registered during 2024 and 38 decisions are processes carried over from 2017 - 2023.

Of the cases for which the in-depth verification process was completed in 2023 and the result approved, based on articles 69, 74 and 76 of the Criminal Procedure Code, for 13 persons, the material has been transferred to the relevant prosecutor's offices for competence, as suspects for the criminal offense of "Forgery of seals, stamps or forms", provided for by article 190 of the Criminal Code. The persons who were found to have filled out the self-declaration form with false data, belong to the verification requests received as follows:

6 from the Department of Public Administration;

7 from the Central Election Commission. /CNA
