Shabani's uncle changes his mind: I want Lapaj's mandate

Candidate Zeqir Kordhoni has sent a letter to the Central Election Commission, through which he expresses his full willingness to take the mandate of deputy, if he is declared the winner after the distribution of mandates.

In this way, Kordhoni, who competed on the closed list of the 'Albania Becomes' Initiative, claims to receive the mandate and not give it up, which could give Adriatik Lapaj the opportunity to enter the Assembly.

"I, the undersigned Zeqir Kordhoni, have run for the 'Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet' Coalition in the Tirana district in the parliamentary elections of May 11, 2025.
Through this declaration signed before a notary today, on 15/07/2025, I wish to inform the Central Election Commission of my full willingness to exercise the function of deputy in the event that I am declared the winner, after the distribution of mandates in accordance with the rules set forth by the Electoral Code of the Republic of Albania.
In this context, I request that the CEC ignore any other declaration previously filed by the 'Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet' Coalition or in my name, and to consider only this declaration as a clear and valid expression of my will," the CEC letter states. /CNA
