KPA suspends Tirana prosecutor from duty, returns her to the Magistrates'

The Special Appeals Chamber decided today to suspend from duty the prosecutor of the Prosecution Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana, Elona Alvora.

The KPA decided that the prosecutor be suspended from duty for 1 year.

She has also been ordered to return to the Magistrates' School to follow the training program according to the curricula.

The panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, composed of Ina Rama as presiding judge, Rezarta Schuetz as rapporteur, Albana Shtylla, Mimoza Tasi, Sokol Çomo as members, announced the decision on case no. 39/2022, dated 07.09.2022, concerning the appeal of the Public Commissioner against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission, no. 538, dated 07.06.2022, relating to the re-evaluation subject Elona Alvora.

"At the end of the trial, the trial panel, based on articles 44, letter "b" and 66, point 1, letter "b" of Law No. 84/2016, "On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania", unanimously decided:

Amendment of the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission, no. 538, dated 07.06.2022, concerning the re-evaluation subject Elona Alvora.

The suspension from duty of the re-evaluation subject Elona Alvora for a period of one year and the obligation to follow the training program, according to the curricula approved by the School of Magistrates.
