Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered his speech at the inaugural ceremony of the first Tirana-Toronto flight at Rinas Airport. Rama said that in addition to the increase in the number of passengers, there has also been an improvement in the quality of service at this airport.

The Prime Minister announced that digital gates will soon be installed at Rinas Airport, which, according to him, will be gates where those with Albanian passports will be able to pass without any kind of control and information will be obtained only through Artificial Intelligence.

"It is not only the increase in the number of passengers, but also the improvement of the quality of service. Rinas International Airport has pioneered the digitalized 'check in' and 'check out' transition. Soon we will open a new chapter of modernization, the chapter of digital gates, which will be gates where you will enter without any kind of control if you are Albanian and have an Albanian passport. For all Albanian passengers entering Rinas Airport, it will be like entering their home and all information will be obtained through artificial intelligence. It will be an extraordinary transformation in many aspects. We are today at an important moment also due to the fact that Albania has concluded a transformation phase in tourism and must enter another phase", said the head of government.

Among other things, Rama said that Albania needs high-end tourism in order to increase income for the community and the economy.

"The continuous increase in the number of tourists who are in the mass tourism category does not bring an increase in income. If we compare income that grows very slowly with expenses that grow very quickly, then the calculation is very simple. It is a simple calculation for all those who fall into a seemingly right, but essentially completely wrong, thinking that why do we need high-end tourism, or why do we need resorts where the rich come when we do not have access to them. In fact, the opposite is true. In fact, we need as many of them as possible to have as much income as possible for the community, the economy, business and the state coffers. We will continue to bring more tourists, but what we need now is to bring more income to Albanian families and to the state coffers ," said Rama. /CNA
