Renowned doctor, Erion Dasho, once again shared his stance regarding the launch of hormone therapy services in the country.

Speaking on 'Syri TV', Dasho stressed that the Ministry of Health has issued extremely weak guidance.

According to the doctor, a quick glance at the protocol is enough to understand that the materials contain not only linguistic errors, but also definitions regarding this service.

Dasho described as scandalous the part of the instruction that implied providing therapy to children, which according to him is completely prohibited even in European countries, such as Great Britain.

"She has washed her hands, as we say in everyday language, of this decision. So it shows that the minister herself is professionally convinced that this instruction is an extremely weak instruction. Now it is unclear whether or not it will be financed from the state budget through the Mandatory Health Care Insurance Fund. Not to mention that it is enough to read the protocol and you understand that it is a material where entire parts have been translated using an online search engine, have not been edited in Albanian, there are linguistic errors and of course such a document does not stand. Above all, I want to emphasize, the most important point and the biggest problem of this protocol is that it implies that this service, if offered, will also be offered to children. This is a scandal, because not earlier, not later than two years ago, a very detailed report was published in Great Britain by a member of the House of Lords, where it is determined and where it is very clearly recommended that therapies not "Reversible, where hormone therapy is the mainstay, should not be offered to children under the age of 18," Dasho said. /CNA
