Journalist Elton Qyno has learned that the convicted Emiljano Çili, Koço Seferaj, Osvaldo Çuko, Fioralb Rraja and Enea Qerushi of the "Grandfathers' Gang" were included in the fictitious amnesty card for 2024, but after the scandal was discovered, none of them have benefited from the reduction of their sentences and have not been released from prison, as all amnesties have already been revoked.

The serious scandal was initially discovered by the Elbasan Court and then audited by the General Directorate of Prisons itself. It is expected that this week it will result in the total dismissal of the legal chief of the Rrogozhina prison, the legal specialist and the cartel member of this prison.

It is learned that currently two of them have been suspended from duty, but the decision to expel them from the ranks of the prison administration is expected to be issued this week.

The abusive acts were not committed during the period when Rrogozhina prison was run by Bilal Hasa, but by another former director, who has now been transferred to the General Directorate.

Subsequently, the city's Prosecutor's Office alerted the General Directorate of Prisons, which immediately ordered the launch of a detailed audit in several prisons, including the Rrogozhina prison.

The audit revealed that during 2024, a fictitious amnesty for 2024 was entered into the prison records of 5 prisoners, leading to an incorrect calculation of the time served in prison, with the aim of prematurely releasing persons convicted of serious criminal offenses.

More specifically, such a criminal scheme was used with the card of the convicted person sentenced to 12 years in prison for drug trafficking, Emiljano Çili, and the other convicted person Koço Seferaj, convicted of "Murder under aggravating circumstances."

Both of these cases were discovered by the Elbasan Court and Prosecutor's Office, which decided to revoke the 2024 amnesty for the two convicted persons. But these two cases have served as an indication to audit other files, where Rrogozhina prison officials have committed abuses.

During the audit, it was discovered that the files of the convicted included Osvaldo Çuko, Fioralb Rraja, the nephew of the former SP MP, Rrahman Rraja, and Enea Qerushi of the "Grandfathers' Gang".

All of these individuals have had their amnesty benefits revoked for 2024, leading to the conclusion that none of them were able to reduce their sentences and subsequently be released from prison.

The case is being followed with great attention by the General Directorate of Prisons and the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office itself, as each file is being verified not only in Rrogozhina prison, but also in other prisons.
