The Council of Ministers held its next meeting today, where several decisions and draft laws were approved.

Among these decisions is the definition of standards related to technical conditions and minimum standards that must be met by online sports betting systems/websites/applications of licensed entities.

The definition of these standards consists of the minimum technical requirements that systems must meet, requirements for player identification and registration, and procedures regarding invoices and payment transactions.

Determining standards related to technical conditions and minimum standards that must be met by online sports betting systems/websites/applications of licensed entities, which consist of:

a) minimum technical requirements that must be met by systems where online sports betting is administered, managed and played, including hardware and software components;

b) requirements for the identification and registration of players, in order to ensure lawful access, protect data and prevent illegal gaming;

c) procedures regarding invoices and payment transactions, ensuring that each transaction is recorded and monitored in real time by the relevant bodies. /CNA
