23 days of protests/ 5 official demands revealed

Activist and former KLA fighter, Dritan Goxhaj, has published 5 points, which are the demands of the protesters.

Goxhaj said in his speech that the protesters are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Rama, a transitional government, the drafting of a new Constitution, or the annulment of several laws such as the one on protected areas.

 

 

 

5 requirements

- The non-negotiable resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the entire government cabinet.

-Creation of a transitional technical government, which will be non-partisan and will have a clear 12-month mandate.

- Drafting a new Constitution that guarantees full equality of citizens before the law, which will be approved by popular referendum. This constitutional reform provides for:

Amendment of the Electoral Code;

Amending the law on financing political parties and organizations;

Limiting the term of office of the Prime Minister to no more than two terms (full or partial) during an individual's entire political life.

-Not giving up on the initial economic and environmental requirements, which urgently require:

Cancellation of amendments to the law on “Protected Areas”;

Cancellation of amendments to the law on “Cultural Heritage”;

Repeal of the legal package known as the "Mountains Package";

Abolition of the status and legal framework for "Strategic Investments".

-A new social contract between citizens and the state, which will be drafted through consultations with intellectuals, technical experts and non-partisan citizens proposed directly from the protest square
