Who punished and betrayed Sali Berisha?!

A decision of the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, published yesterday on social networks and later on the official website of the US Department of State, shocked the Albanian public opinion. For the first time a former president, a former prime minister of the country, is publicly punished by the US.

So Berisha and his family were barred from entering the US. In fact the decision was not unexpected, even though public opinion reacted intensely. Someone was confused, another enthusiastic, another shocked, even though he was mentioned almost 2 years ago in the parliament hall by Prime Minister Edi Rama, but also by journalist Artan Hoxha.

But who condemned and what punished Sali Berisha? The decision was made by the US. The US Secretary of State announced a very strong punitive measure for the 77-year-old former Prime Minister of Albania. 25 years ago, Berisha had very strong debates with the US.

But after he became one of their main partners, and gave Albania a few positive results.

On the other hand, there are other factors. The main reason seems to be the opposition movements in recent years.

If you analyze it details by detail and go back in time, you will easily understand what happened. The alliance with Ilir Meta and January 21 are mentioned in Blinken?s accusation of Berisha interfering in the justice system or enriching the allies.

At that time, the court closed the decision for the current president, Sali Berisha?s ally. Four killed on the Boulevard, dozens injured, and Ilir Meta acquitted. The protest on the boulevard was for Meta?s corrupt affair. The court ruled 4 in favor and 1 against innocence.

And the latter was Ardian Dvorani. It is no coincidence that Dvorani also received a certificate of appreciation, and has had widespread public support from the United States, precisely, because he is thought to have been a supporter of Justice Reform, but also one of the people who have strongly opposed the decision not to sentence Ilir Meta.

Further, we can recall the tragic event of Gërdec, and the death of almost 30 people and the injury of hundreds of others. There was no justice for this event either. Fatmir Mediu was not convicted. Meanwhile, the incompetence of Lulzim Basha and the exposure that the latter has made to former Prime Minister Berisha, are probably the main consequences for this decision given by DASH.

Why do we say that? First, are the recent parliamentary elections, which Basha claims

were stolen, and doesn?t accept the defeat, as he don’t want to leave the leadership of the Democratic Party. But in meetings with internationals, Basha has stressed that the recognition of the election results and entry into parliament, is being hindered by Sali Berisha.

Then there are the handovers of mandates, the protests and the boycott of the local elections in 2019. Even at that time, Basha in frequent meetings with diplomats, was justified:? It is not my fault, everything is in Berisha?s!?.

And so on, going to 2017, the Tent?s protests, to the Rama-Basha agreement. It was again Lulzim Basha who blamed Sali Berisha for the radicalization all the time and Democratic Party. So, from a simple political analysis, it is understood that Sali Berisha is the man who was punished by the Americans for Lulzim Basha.

For the incompetence of the latter, for his betrayals. So while Berisha defended him until the end, Basha found the moment to betray him, and the consequence is that decision published yesterday by the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken./CNA.al
