Apple's new CEO is chosen/ Here's who John Ternus is

The well-known technology company, Apple, will now have a new CEO and he is John Ternus.

Ternus, a mechanical engineer, has been with the company since 2001 and served as senior vice president of hardware engineering. Employees at the company are said to like him a lot. He is decisive, focused, a good collaborator and is known for rising above the internal drama that plagued Apple in its early years.

He has also overseen a number of iconic products and hardware innovations at the company:

Ternus was one of the leaders who helped develop AirPods and facilitated the transition of Mac computers to using Apple's own chips.

It spurred the production of the MacBook Neo, the cheaper and more colorful laptop that Apple launched last month, which sold out almost immediately.

Ternus reportedly reorganized the company's hardware engineering department earlier this month to prepare it for faster development of AI products.

Now, Apple has its eyes set on major launches powered by artificial intelligence: a more chatbot-like Siri, smart home devices, but also many other ideas that could be introduced during Ternus's leadership of the company. /CNA
