Chinese AI app is worrying Hollywood

Seedance 2.0, a new artificial intelligence model developed by the Chinese company ByteDance, can create cinematic-quality videos, complete with sound effects and dialogue, from just a few written instructions.

Several clips made with this tool, including popular characters like Spider-Man and Deadpool, went viral, prompting accusations of copyright infringement from Disney and Paramount.

Experts warn that this technology is fundamentally changing the creative industry, as it can significantly increase the quality of low-budget productions and open up opportunities for more complex genres, such as action, fantasy and historical dramas.

At the same time, this increases legal challenges for the use of copyrighted characters.
