Trademark patent applications increase/ Who is the innovation leader in Europe?

Germany is the leading innovative country in Europe in terms of trademark patent applications. It ranks first in Europe and second in the world, after the USA.

It is followed by countries such as France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Italy, while China is third with rapid growth of around 9.7%. 

Although Artificial Intelligence is very trendy, it is not the field with the most trademark patents. The biggest growth is in quantum technology (+38%), AI has also grown by about 10%, but at a slower pace.

Europe has a large share of trademark patents related to AI and quantum technologies. Applications for AI have increased by around 2.6%, while for quantum inventions there is an increase of around 22%. 

This shows that Europe is still very competitive in the field of advanced technology. /CNA
