UEFA selects German for Arsenal-PSG final

UEFA has officially named the referee who will officiate the Champions League final between Arsenal and PSG. The refereeing has been entrusted to 42-year-old German Daniel Siebert, a surprise choice.

This will be the first final in Siebert's career at the elite levels of UEFA or FIFA, thus marking the peak of his professional career.

The German is known as a very strict referee on the field of play, a fact that is also reflected in his statistics with an average of five yellow cards per match. The match is expected to be quite tense, given his refereeing style and the importance of the trophy.

The grand final will be played on May 30 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest. Both teams will have to be careful with their on-field discipline to avoid penalties from the German referee.

Siebert has refereed Arsenal before this season, in the quarter-final against Sporting and in the semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid.
