Historic! Como secures qualification for Europe for the first time

For the first time in history, Como has mathematically secured qualification for Europe for next season, after a narrow 1-0 victory over Verona at "Bentegodi".

The decisive goal for the team led by Cesc Fabregas was scored by Douvikas in the 71st minute with a powerful right-footed shot.

Verona had a better first half and created the most dangerous chances with Suslov and Bowie, but failed to convert them.

In the 36th minute, Fabregas was forced to make a substitution due to the injury of Valle, who was replaced by Moreno. In the second half, the Spanish coach changed the face of the team with the activation of Smolcic, Caqueret and Baturina.

Como took control of the game and after several chances managed to unblock the challenge with Douvikas. Verona tried to react at the end, but Bowie's goal was disallowed for Valentin's offside position.

Just two years after returning to Serie A, Como secures a place in European cups, a historic achievement for the club.
