New "San Siro", Milan and Inter reach important agreement

Inter and Milan have taken a new important step towards the construction of a new stadium in Milan. The two clubs have announced that they have reached an agreement with two of the most prestigious architecture studios in the world, “Foster Partners”, led by Lord Norman Foster, and “Manica”, led by architect David Manica. These two studios will be responsible for the design of the new stadium, if the Milan City Council approves the decision to sell the urban area known as “San Siro”.

The joint statement from the clubs emphasizes that this project represents an absolute priority for the future of the teams and for the city of Milan.

Milan president Paolo Scaroni has been hailed as one of the main supporters of this process. The new stadium aims to combine innovation, comfort and sustainability, creating an arena that will meet the highest international standards.

The published details show that the new facility will be built within a wider urban regeneration project of around 281 thousand square meters. It will have a capacity of 71,500 seats and will be structured on two large rings. The design is intended to guarantee excellent views for every spectator, regardless of the sector where they are located. The stadium will also respect the highest accessibility criteria and will offer spaces and prices suitable for a wide range of fans.

Inter and Milan emphasize that the collaboration with Foster and Manica is not coincidental. The two architects have worked together before on major projects, such as the construction of the new Wembley Stadium in London, which replaced a historic icon of English football to create a new symbol of the future.

This new stadium project aims to become another benchmark not only for Italian football, but also for sports architecture globally, giving a modern and advanced image to the city of Milan.
