Record in the transfer market, Guardiola exceeds 2 billion euros in spending

Pep Guardiola has made history as the coach with the biggest spending in the transfer market, after the transfer of goalkeeper James Trafford from Burnley to Manchester City, the total investment figure from his clubs has exceeded 2 billion euros.

For Trafford alone, City paid around 31 million euros, bringing him back to the club where he was formed as a player. Guardiola began his coaching career at Barcelona, where he spent around 342 million euros, with the most expensive transfer being Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

At Bayern Munich, during the period 2013-2016, around 206 million euros were invested, with Arturo Vidal being the biggest acquisition.

The bulk of the budget has been spent by Manchester City since 2016, with over €1.6 billion spent on the transfer market. Jack Grealish remains the most expensive player Guardiola has brought in his career.

In comparison, Diego Simeone ranks second with around 700 million euros less spent.
