Midfielder breaks his leg and ends the World Cup, it is revealed how much FIFA will pay

Midfielder Ismael Kone suffered a serious injury during the Canada-Qatar match at the World Cup, a match that ended with the Canadians' 6-0 victory.

The Sassuolo player suffered a broken leg in the second half after a challenge from Madibo. After a VAR review, the referee showed the Qatari player a red card.

Initial estimates suggest Kone could be out for four to five months. The injury is a significant loss for both Sassuolo and the Canadian national team as they continue their tournament.

Due to this situation, FIFA will activate the Club Protection Program, which provides financial compensation for teams that lose injured players during national team commitments.

Sassuolo is expected to receive around 560,000 euros, depending on the midfielder's recovery time.
