Neuer ends his time with Germany, the goalkeeper will retire after the World Cup

Manuel Neuer has confirmed that the World Cup will be his last tournament with the German national team.

The 40-year-old goalkeeper had retired from the national team after being eliminated in the quarterfinals of Euro 2024, but returned for this World Cup after good performances with Bayern Munich.

Neuer is playing in his fifth consecutive World Cup as Germany's starter and started the tournament with a 7-1 victory over Curaçao, his first match with the national team in two years.

He stated that he does not plan to be part of Euro 2028 and that this is the last chapter with the Germany jersey.

Germany will face Ivory Coast and a victory would secure qualification to the knockout stage with one match remaining in the group.
