World Cup/ The favorites do the job, five goals in two matches

The Colombian and Ghana national teams have recorded important victories in their first matches in their respective groups of the 2026 World Cup.

In Group K, Colombia defeated Uzbekistan 3-1 at the Estadio Banorte stadium in Mexico.

Daniel Munoz opened the scoring before the end of the first half, but the Uzbeks temporarily equalized in the 60th minute through Fayzullaev.

Then, Bayern striker Luis Diaz restored the Colombians' advantage in the 65th minute, while Jaminton Campaz sealed the triumph in the 99th minute.

This result places Colombia at the top of the group, also benefiting from the 1-1 draw between Portugal and DR Congo.

In Group L, Ghana picked up a dramatic 1-0 victory over Panama at Toronto's BMO Field.

The match was decided in the 95th minute thanks to a goal from Caleb Yirenkyi. With this success, Ghana joins England on three points at the top of the group, following the Three Lions' 4-2 victory over Croatia.
