Ronaldo makes history, but records worrying figures

Cristiano Ronaldo recorded another historic moment in his career during Portugal's match against the Democratic Republic of Congo at the World Cup.

The Portuguese striker became the first player, along with Lionel Messi, to participate in six different editions of the World Cup.

At the age of 41 years and 132 days, he also set the record as the oldest player in history to start in a World Cup without being a goalkeeper.

However, the match did not produce a goal for the Portuguese captain. Ronaldo ended the match with just 25 touches of the ball, the lowest figure he has recorded in a fully played match at a World Cup or European Championship.

He went 10 consecutive matches without scoring in major international tournaments. During this streak, he attempted 33 shots, 11 of which were on target, but failed to find the net.
