Qualification after penalties, Egypt triumphs over Australia

The Egyptian national team has secured qualification for the round of 16 of the World Cup after defeating Australia on penalties.

Regular time and extra time of this match ended in a 1-1 draw, causing the winner to be determined by penalty kicks.

During the penalty shootout, Egypt's players proved more accurate, converting four times, while their opponents missed twice.

As for the match, the Egyptians took the lead in the 13th minute through Emam Ashour, a score that remained unchanged until the end of the first half.

In the second half of the game, Australia equalized in the 55th minute after an own goal scored by defender Mohamed Hany.

Following this success, Egypt will face the winner of the remaining pair between Argentina and Cape Verde in the round of 16.
