Juventus fall in the transfer market, bitter surprise from Cagliari

Juventus were stunned away to Cagliari, where they were narrowly defeated. The Sardinian team triumphed 1-0, ending the Bianconeri's eight-match unbeaten run in Serie A. This was only Cagliari's second win in the last 14 home matches against Juventus, but it was a huge boost for both the standings and the team's morale.

Juventus came into this match after positive results, including a resounding 5-0 victory over Cremonese, which had put the team in the discussion for the championship title, albeit in the role of follower.

The first half was characterized by a lack of clear-cut chances for Juventus, who found it difficult to penetrate the home defense. The most dangerous chance came from Fabio Mireti, whose shot was stopped by goalkeeper Elia Kaprile. The same player was also the protagonist in another episode, when he claimed a penalty after a contact in the area, but after a VAR review, the referee overturned the initial decision.

In the second half, the pace of the game increased. Juventus tried with Miret and Cambiaso, but without finding the way to the net. Even after some inaccurate shots from Keli and Kenan Yildiz, it was Cagliari who changed the course of the match.

In the 65th minute, Luka Mazitelli took advantage of a free kick executed by Gaetano and with a deflected volley beat goalkeeper Perin, giving the home team the advantage.

After the goal, the match turned into a duel between Juventus' attack and Cagliari's defense. The Bianconeri kept the ball and exerted constant pressure, but the home team defended well, closing off spaces and blocking shots.

The clearest chance for an equalizer came from Kenan Yildiz, whose shot, after a deflection, hit the post.

In the end, Cagliari managed to maintain the minimal advantage until the final whistle, securing three important points that take them eight points clear of the relegation zone, while Juventus ranks fifth with 39 points.
