Gattuso projected on the bench of the Serie A club

Gennaro Gattuso could return to Serie A next season, as his name is being linked with the Torino bench.

Italian media report that the Turin club's leaders are seriously considering the possibility of offering the 48-year-old coach a three-year contract.

Gattuso has been without a team since early April, when he stepped down as Italy coach after failing to qualify for the World Cup for the third time in a row. The former Italy midfielder has not managed a Serie A team since leaving Napoli in 2021.

After his experience in Italy, he managed Valencia in Spain, Marseille in France and Hajduk Split in Croatia. President Urbano Cairo and Torino's management value Gattuso's profile and have previously considered him for the team's bench.

Ivan Juric remains on the list of candidates, while an alternative is to continue with Roberto D'Aversa. Torino is expected to make a final decision after the end of the season.
