Barcelona renews with Flick, the reward comes after the championship title

Barcelona and Hansi Flick have reached an agreement to extend the German coach's contract until 2028.

The agreement also includes an option for an additional season until 2029, depending on the club's sporting objectives.

The decision comes after Barcelona's successful season, which saw them secure the La Liga title after a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid.

Negotiations between the club and Flick's agent have lasted several weeks and have been conducted in collaboration with president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco.

Initially, Barcelona had considered a shorter-term renewal, but the German coach's results convinced the management of a longer-term project.

The German coach wants to focus on the end of the season, where Barcelona aims to reach 100 points and 100 goals in the championship.

The Catalans currently have 91 points and 91 goals, while the contract is expected to be formalized after the end of the season.
