Zelimkhan Abakarov, in September, made all Albanians proud, as he was declared world champion in wrestling, in the middle of Belgrade. However, the Chechen wrestler, who represents Albania, has not yet received the medal money from the state.

This was announced by the President of the Albanian Wrestling Federation, Sahit Prizeri, on the show "SportZone" on MCN TV. According to the latter, the Ministry's response to the lack of funds is due to the budget.

"Jam i lumtur për arritjet e mundjes. Është një bast i fituar ndaj skeptikëve. Nuk është hera e parë që mundja jep rezultatet. Kemi pasur medalje, por Shqipëria nuk ka pasur një kampion bote dhe jam krenar që ndodhi me Abakarov  në Beograd. Shembull i mirë për brezat dhe për sportin. Ne kemi shkruar historinë, Shqipëria për herë të parë ka një kampion bote dhe ky është Abakarov. Për mua dhe sportin, është një krenari. Përveç se më mbush me dëshirë, por më jep një kënaqësi. Lojërat Olimpike janë afër dhe synojmë medaljen olimpike. Vëmendja është në “Paris 2024”. Tani i mbetet shtetit, për të bërë të mundur, rrugëtimin për në Olimpiadë.

Miqësitë e mia me Çeçeninë janë të mëdha dhe arrita të bindja djemtë për të ardhur këtu. U bë një punë e madhe për t’i marrë këtu. Djemtë nuk hezituan ta pranojnë këtë mundësi, e kanë justifikuar.
