Foods that damage the heart

Some of my friends have passed away, some others are on regular medication.

Why?

It's always time to make a decision to keep your heart and blood vessels healthy no matter how badly you've abused it!

I am describing to you some of the foods that destroy heart health badly.

- Fried foods which we have a tradition and like very much, fried chicken, fried potatoes, etc., increase the risk of heart diseases.

These foods increase bad cholesterol and decrease good cholesterol.

- Processed meats such as meatballs, sausages and hams are often high in saturated fats, trans fats and preservatives. Even the low-fat variants contain high amounts of sodium.

High sodium intake is linked to high blood pressure, and avoiding extra salt can greatly improve it.

- Fast food, KFC food, pizza, etc. contain saturated & trans fats that contribute to heart disease, their harm is abundantly clear. In general, however, saturated fats from animals, especially when combined with carbohydrates, have negative effects on heart health.

Restaurants generally tend to use lower quality ingredients as well as unhealthy cooking methods. Avoiding them is a good way to be kind to your heart.

- Many sweets (from cakes to baklava and many bakery products contain industrial sugar) contribute directly to inflammation, obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, which all are major risk factors for heart disease.

- Juices and industrial soft drinks which apparently contain a low amount of sugar, but contain preservatives and other heart-damaging substances.

- Baked goods, pizzas, pies, sandwiches contain saturated fats as well as trans fats.

These foods often contain a lot of sodium (salt).

When eating pizza or pie, limit yourself to one or two small slices and choose ones filled with vegetables.

- Margarine, is part of trans fats, hydrogenated. In my childhood (the 80s) it was the only option to eat, it was the alternative of butter. Margarine is responsible for fatty deposits in the blood vessels, in their internal parts, in the organs around the abdomen, around the heart, obesity, etc.
