Ministrja e Shëndetësisë, Albana Koçiu ka njoftuar se është realizuar ndërhyrja e vështirë kirurgjikalë nga personeli i Shërbimit të Kirurgjisë së Përgjithshme në Spitalin Rajonal Memorial Fier. 

Sipas ministres operacioni është kryer tek një vajzë 30-vjeçare që vuante nga çrregullim gjenetik: Trisomia 21.

"Një ndërhyrje e kompleksitetit të lartë është realizuar me sukses nga personeli i Shërbimit të Kirurgjisë së Përgjithshme në Spitalin Rajonal Memorial Fier, te një vajzë 30 vjeçare që vuante nga çrregullim gjenetik: Trisomia 21. Falë diagnostikimit dhe ndërhyrjes në kohë, pacientja gëzon shëndet të mirë dhe i janë rikthyer muskujt dhe indet e barkut në funksion të plotë. Mirënjohje ekipit të mjekëve kirurgë dhe anestezistë, Dr. Frenki Vila, Dr. Alti Haxhiu, Dr. Andi Gjini, Dr. Mario Shehu si dhe personelin infermieror që asistuan gjatë ndërhyrjes kirurgjikale, Xhesika Hoxha, Denisa Maqina.
