We know the value of a balanced diet for the health and well-being of the body. But how many of us know that our dietary choices can help maintain youthful skin, regenerate collagen and fight aging?
Nutritionists list the most valuable foods that contribute to the regeneration of skin cells, giving us not only a body without nutrient deficiencies, but also a skin with elasticity and radiance.

Red pepper
Red peppers are a rich source of vitamin C, which is considered essential in the process of skin cell regeneration. Vitamin C "takes part" in the smooth synthesis of collagen, the protein that forms the basis of all connective tissues of the body. In addition, it has a significant antioxidant effect, which is even enhanced when combined with vitamin E (eg pouring olive oil on a salad with red peppers).
Eating ½ of 1 red pepper per day almost covers the body's needs for vitamin C. However, smokers, athletes and nursing mothers have higher needs that can be met through other sources of vitamin C such as oranges, yellow peppers and greens, green chilies, broccoli, kiwi, strawberries, eggplant, and papaya.

Spinach is rich in vitamin A which contributes to skin and hair hydration. Vitamin A is also necessary for the development of all body tissues, including the skin. Also, spinach is a rich source of vitamin C, which is vital for collagen renewal. At the same time, it contains folic acid which contributes to the proliferation of cells, including those of the skin. It is therefore essential for healthy skin regeneration. You can consume ½-1 cup of spinach 2-3 times a week or more often if you want. In addition, you can get folic acid by eating other foods such as green leafy vegetables, rice, whole grains, okra, liver and oranges.
Eggplant
Eggplants are a rich source of flavonoids, especially nasunin. Flavonoids are a subclass of phenolic phytochemicals that protect skin cells from oxidation, hence aging. You can consume a medium eggplant every day (in oil or in a salad) or 2-3 times a week and meet your body's needs for flavonoids from other sources such as carrots, citrus fruits, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, onions, parsley, thyme and okra./ CNA
