Shkodra, 1430 high school graduates take the exam/ Kadia: We aim to have more

Today, the first State Matura exam is taking place throughout Albania. In Shkodra, the Director of the Local Education Office Brisela Kadia said that 1,430 high school graduates have taken the exam in foreign language subjects: English, Italian and French.

"Today we started the state matriculation exams. We started with the foreign language exam, in the Shkodra Secondary Educational Service the languages ??are English, Italian and French. We have organized 6 exam centers, where 23 educational institutions, gymnasiums, public and private joint high schools, but also vocational schools are concentrated. There are 1430 students who are participating in this exam and also, 148 teachers and administrators are engaged who will manage the entire process. There is also the supervision of the Ministry of Education but they are also accompanied by the state police", said Kadia.

Students with disabilities have developed a special test under the supervision of assistant teachers.

"We also have students with disabilities who take exams and have a special test, but also assistant teachers who accompany them throughout the exams. It is a lottery exam, where the lottery is drawn in the morning and none of the teachers and administrators knew where the centers they will manage are," said Kadia.

Although the figures are not yet accurate, in the Shkodra Secondary Education Area there are currently approximately 90 fewer high school graduates this year, an ever-decreasing number of young people completing high school.

"There are approximately 90 fewer high school graduates than a year ago, but we cannot say that it is a figure that is neither too large nor too small, considering that the state high school exams are taken by students who are completing the three-year cycle, but there are also students who have outstanding obligations from previous years, so it is not a very measurable figure in this regard. Of course, the goal is to not have fluctuations from the previous grades of the students and to have a higher representation with gold medals than last year," said Kadia.

In the coming days, high school graduates will also take other state matriculation exams, thus concluding an important cycle of their lives and getting ready for university studies./CNA
