In the picturesque village of Kolanec in the municipality of Maliq, a traditional fair was held for the first time, marking the official opening of the tourist season in the area. Residents, young and old, came together for a day of celebration and joy, where tradition and culture were brought to the fore through organic food, songs, dances and the characteristic hospitality of the area.

The organizer of this activity, Brizida Gjikondi, emphasized the importance of this fair as part of a broader vision for the development of the mountainous area of ??the Maliq municipality, with the aim of turning it into a contemporary tourist destination. For Gjikondi, this day is about peace, love and harmony between people, while she is optimistic that it will become a tradition for Kolaneci.

" The goal is to revitalize the entire Maliq area. This is especially important for the mountainous area of ??this municipality, Kolanec and the rest of Gora. I think that the village of Kolanec will no longer speak of the war of the past, but will speak of tourism and will be a contemporary tourist destination. For the sake of truth, from the Maliq municipality and Mayor Gëzim Topçiu we had maximum support for everything, from the smallest to the largest. This is a day that speaks of peace, of love, of harmony between all people and I believe that it will become a tradition that at the end of May and the beginning of June will speak of Kolanec and Maliq ", Gjikondi explained.

 

The Municipality of Maliq is also involved in this initiative, which has supported the activity organized for the first time in this area. In his speech, Mayor Gëzim Topçiu said that Kolanec is one of the most beautiful villages in terms of nature but also tradition and history.

Topçiu emphasizes one of the most important investments in the area in the paving of the main road that will bring the return of those who left to this village and will certainly turn it into a tourist attraction.

" We are in one of the most beautiful villages in the Maliq Municipality, not only for the beauties of nature but also for the tradition and history. The village of Kolanec deserved this organization that will be a tradition for all years. The Maliq Municipality has just started investing in the village road that will be extended by 1 km within this year to enable us to step by step realize one of the most desirable investments to turn this village into a tourist attraction. Let this be a good start, I would like to thank all the housewives of Kolanec who today have prepared their traditional organic products of this area. I believe that next year there will be more people, it will be more beautiful than today thanks to the support that the municipality itself will have for this village ," said the mayor.

 

One of the elderly ladies of the village of Kolanec, filled with emotion and very proud of this activity, shares with viewers her feelings about this special day.

" This is the first fair and the entire village has risen to its feet to enjoy and rejoice in this day. The remaining third age group feels more than the young people that they have gone here and there but they will also come. Those from the village have gone to Tirana and everywhere, they have called us about these organizations that are being held, despite the fact that this time we are not prepared, but next time we will do it so well that you have no idea. We in the village are very satisfied ," said the resident.

 

Kolaneci has thus given the first signal of a tourist renaissance, where tradition meets development and local cooperation. A good start for a future full of hope for the residents of the area and for the entire Maliq region./ CNA
