Reconstruction of the "Ndre Mjeda" school in Shkodër/Kalamishi:

The complete reconstruction of the 9-year school "Ndre Mjeda" in Shkodra is still in progress, financed by the Ministry of Education and the Municipality of Shkodra. Engineer Adrian Kalamishi announced that the completion of the works is scheduled for January next year, but two brigades are working at full capacity to accelerate the process, with the aim of having the school ready by the start of the new school year 2025-2026.

"We are working with high intensity because we have introduced two separate brigades in the old part of the building, where reconstruction is also taking place in the new part, and I believe that we will move in parallel with both of these environments that are being built to complete it as a facility as soon as possible. We will try to finish it before the set deadlines, so that in September it will be ready for the start of the new school year," said Kalamishi.

The works have also included the construction of a new building, which will include a kindergarten and several additional classrooms. Engineer Kalamishi emphasized that all interventions are being carried out according to the best standards and will guarantee modern conditions for both students and teaching staff.

"The works are progressing at a high pace. Specifically, we are intervening in the old part of the school building, and there will also be a new part that will be added. The new part is a building that is being built from scratch and has four floors. A kindergarten with two facilities will be added and each floor has four additional classrooms, toilets and auxiliary facilities, as well as school offices," said Kalamishi.

This investment is part of an intervention that is being carried out in several schools in the city. The "Ndre Mjeda" school is among the largest in the city, where at the start of the school year there were 800 students. The latter are carrying out the teaching process in other schools in shifts, until the works are completed. /CNA
