Murder in Rinas/ Rama points the finger at the State Police and the Ministry of

Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke this evening about the mafia assassination that occurred two days ago in Rinas, where Gilmando Dani lost his life and Muçi Shaljani was seriously injured.

In an interview, Rama accused the State Police and the Ministry of Interior of delaying the process of monitoring the country's streets and cities with smart cameras. He said that if this system had been functional, Rinas' killers would have been identified in real time.

"What we lack at this moment is the increase in capacities for monitoring and identifying perpetrators. And we have put in place this process that has been delayed for some time, unfortunately for bureaucratic reasons by the State Police and the Ministry of Interior, which is the process of digital transformation of monitoring with intelligent cameras of the country's streets and cities.  

If we had this system in place, the Rinas killers would have been identified in real time. The system does not allow the perpetrators to flee in an unknown direction. The project is ready, the funding has been made available. I hope that work will begin in the coming weeks. The system will take 12 months to put into operation. Then we will be at a completely different level in terms of identifying perpetrators of any kind. ", said Rama. /CNA
