Justice reform/ Lamallari: If it were up to a part of politics that anathematized it, it would never have happened

Minister of Justice, Besfort Lamallari, delivered his speech at the plenary session where he said that the year 2024 marked a real turning point for justice reform.

Lamallari stated that Albanian justice has entered its second phase, the consolidation phase.

Further, the minister said that a part of politics anathemaed the justice reform and if it were up to them, it would never have happened.

" The year 2024 marked a real turning point. We can say with conviction that Albanian justice has entered a second phase. Its consolidation.

Albanian criminal justice is moving towards the consolidation of European standards. These are evidence of a system that is learning to deliver results without influence. If it were up to a part of politics that sit and anathematize the justice reform, it would never have happened. Now it is up to the majority to take the reform further and for Albanians to have an independent justice system.

"Today is the time for a new dimension, a justice that guarantees non-negotiable standards. The Ministry of Justice is leading the second phase of the reform, access to justice for all ," Lamallari said./CNA
