Leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that the opposition will not withdraw from its request to ask questions to the heads of justice institutions, who are expected to report to the Assembly today.

In a statement to journalists, Berisha said that the opposition should be allowed because it represents the public interest.

Berisha added that preventing the opposition from asking questions is a scenario for shutting down Parliament.

"As an alternative, either give up oral questions or vote without reading the report of the justice institutions. This proposal includes the scenario of shutting down the parliament. There is no opposition in the world that accepts such a bargain. If I put the lock on them, I will leave tomorrow. For the opposition, I do not give up the right to ask questions. In 2023-2024, the questions have all been oral. They are looking for an interpretation that is convenient for them. They have no interest in being reported, so they want to impose themselves on the opposition. But the opposition never imposes itself. I think that written questions are a norm for the questioner to prepare. This is normal, but it excludes oral questions. Albanians should hear what questions are asked. Because then we are not in a peaceful position. We are united by the public interest", - said Berisha. /CNA
